Intro
I am from Quincy, Illinois. I came to UIS because I liked the size of the campus. So far school has been very stressful with classes, cheerleading, and work, however I am trying to keep organized so I can get everything done. It is hard for me to get into the books this semester, but I do like to learn about racial issues. I like the large groups because the lectures are interesting to listen to. I am also having trouble blogging because I have never done this before.

It is an experience, this blogging thing, but I hope you and your classmates will take the opportunity to write on a regular basis and look upon it as a positive thing, since writing is a process that deserves time and attention, and a good foundation for self-expression and self-exploration. Feel free to use your blog to ask questions about the reading assignments, and to respond to anything else you may hear or see in the mass media related to the course and to contemporary American society in general. I want to encourage everyone to make this an ongoing conversation about what we are reading, and what you are researching.
